more Vixoden goodies

In a previous post, I mentioned something about big news from Vixoden cosmetics...well, big on my part, anyways. Kim was looking for promoters for her company, to help her get her company's name out there a bit more. I chatted with her a bit, sent her a link to this lovely blog here, and opened my mailbox Friday to find a promoter package waiting for me. I was expecting a few different samples/colors, so what I got blew me away. Kim's idea of a promoter package is the entire Cyber Goth collection! Five different colors in 5 g jars. I was soooo excited when I saw it :) In addition to the promoter package, I also recieved the samples I ordered previously. She is trying to clear out old colors, so there's a massive clearance sale running on them right now. The samples are ENORMOUS. I got 5 of them, and they filled 10g jars, no sweat. Kim was sweet enough to throw in a bonus 5g jar of Ecstasy- my absolute favorite color she sells- as well. I can't wait to get pictures up so you guys can see how amaazing the colors are..not to mention how generous the samples are! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving..I'll try to get the color swatches up ater...I just switched computers, so I've been trying to get everything situated on this new one..

so a little about my day..

tuesday morning, I was woken up at around 6 am by a throbbing tooth. i've had this once before, and let me tell you, it's not fun. I would rather smash my fingers repeatedly with a hammer than go through the torture of a toothache.
I ended up in the er around 8 last night, and ended up with prescriptions for  Penicillan, Tramadol, and Ibueprofin/ perscription stregth Motrin. I also ended up with a headache thanks to the assholes at Walmart, but that's neither here nor there.
Anyways, I got my shit filled at around 11 that night. Woke up this morning to a face that was half swollen, and still ranking kinda high on the pain scale. Made it to a dental clinic at 7a.m...Long story short, they extracted the tooth- apparently, I had broken it sometime in the past- , I gave them $150, and I am now sitting at home with an even more swollen face than before. Fingers crossed that shit goes down noticeably by tomorrow...
I took a few pictures of stuff while I was out and about today. I'll try to post them later.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!!

Ugh

I was at Walmart the other night and picked up a new charger for my camera batteries. I figured it was a good buy at only $10 , hell, it even came with batteries. Got it home to find out that not only are 2 of the batteries triple a, not double, but the batteries don't work in my camera...Which is something I don't GET at all. So now I get to try and find the reciept from the purchase and try to return the piee of junk. It's disappointing, because my other ones are almost dead, so I really don't know what to do at this point. Sucks.
On the plus side...in addition to makeup, another love of mine is cooking...and baking. And coming up, I get to bake! We're going to my bf's family for Thanksgiving this year... They're planning on having about 20 people this year, so it's bigger than normal. And of course, the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday. Whoooot. Still debating on going to Sephora before I head in...But let's stay on topic...my work is having a potluck for all us lucky people who get to work 1100 hours that day, so I'm going to make a giant batch of dark chocolate creme de menthe cookies ^.^ Hopefully they turn out well, I haven't done them before. I was going to make mnm cookies, but I forgot to ...get...mnm's...0.0

So that's really all for today. I'll try to get a look up, but I can't make any promises... :(

Vixoden Cosmetics (Kim's Kreations)

Kim's Kreations/ Vixoden Cosmetics is a company I first heard of over the summer. They were offering a special on their Facebook page -I believe it was 8samples for $2 dollars-. I ordered and was overall very pleased with the colors I recieved, in particular Ecstasy and Cryogenic.
So when Kim put up another offer for her fB fans, I couldn't resist. This one was even better- the first 30 people to email with a list of ther favorite shades, would get sample packs FREE.Of course, I had to get in on this! ( When I sent in my color picks, my email was kind enough to bounce the message back to me, not Kim. I re-sent, and she was kind enough to respond immediately. The communication here is really excellent. That's important to me. I like when a company sees its'customers as people, not just payments.)

Onto swatches! The left color in each pic is over NYX base camp primer; the right swatch is bare skin.
Sex n Candy: this is a gorgeous shimmery pink with tons of sparkles. I'm not normally a pink girl, but this one leapt off the website at me. I knew I had to have it.
Ecstasy: This is my reason for returning to Vixoden Cosmetics. Ecstasy is the most gorgeous shade of blue ever invented. This is in my top 5 eyeshadows. The blue immediately draws your eye in, but it's only after that, you realize HOLY CRAP THERE'S MEGA SILVER SPARKLES IN THIS. It's PERFECT.

Ecstasy some more, just because I can.
Cryogenic: This one didn't swatch on bare skin too well, but you can see the mega pigmentation on the left /primer swatch. Another bright color with rediculous amounts of sparkle.
L-R: Rave, MR. Frog, Hulk Smash.
I'm not even sure why I uploaded this picture. The colors are WAY off. Damn flash. In reality, Rave is a turquoise, Mr. Frog is a summery green with beautiful emerald glitter, and Hulk Smash is a sparkly dark green. What's also interesting about Hulk is that in the container, it appeared a matte grayed green. I'm so glad it wasn't.

Speaking of packaging, Kim sends her samples in plain envelopes. In the envelopes are small baggies with a handwritten sticker label on each. Sadly, when I opened my envelope, Sex n Candy's baggie had stuck to Ecstasy's (see? Even other shadows love Ecstasy) and when I tried to peel them apart, I realized there was also a hole in Sex n Candy :( Luckily, I was able to find this:

Bead storage containers! They were on sale, 40% off at Michaels. I grabbed two- one for this order, and one for my next, which is due to arrive in the next couple weeks or so... I just carefully transferred the shadows from their mini baggies to the bead containers. (btw, I love that the stickers on the baggies were the PERFECT size to transfer onto the containers as well. That was a stroke of luck on my part.)

My overall thought of Vixoden Cosmetics/ Kim's Kreations?
Wonderful. Colors to die for, excellent commnication, decently sixed samples- especially when, hello, they're free-. overall very, very satisfactory experience. I get the feeling these ladies  really do care about their customers, and not just about making a quick buck.

Find kim's kreations FB here, and their storenvy here Go check them out, and let them know I sent ya :)

My camera is out of commission...

Until I can get new batteries for it, my camera won't do me too much good. So for today, I'm posting a ''wish lists'' of sorts... My bf's getting me a Sephora card for my birthday, so I'm hoping to pick up at least a few of these soon...I'm also thinking about going to check out the Black Friday deals. The mall I work at is opening at midnight. Crazy people. Sephora opens at 3am, my store, 2:30...However, I'm not stupid enough to go to the mall at 2-3 a.m, if I don't have to be there to work until 10 >.<
But I digress. Here's the goodies I'm currently craving:
Buxom Stay There eyeshadow in Husky. By far the prettiest color in the line.
Philosophy Marshmallows for toasting lip gloss.

Makeup  For Ever fix and seal spray, and BH cosmetics pallette #2. These combined make for an awesome eyeliner, from what I've seen on other blogs.

Philosophy 3-in-1 Mint Chocolate chip ice cream: I'm still kicking myself for not getting both bottle I saw at Ross last year :( Steal of a lifetime at $6 a piece (and they're not the travel size) . I have less than half of mine left .

Philosophy 3-in-1 Chocolate Fudge Cake....yummmm..Smells so freakin'good.

Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy. I have heard nothing but glowing reviews about this product. I have GOT TO get my hands on it. (Unfortunately, Fyrinnae's webstore is shut down for the time being. It's set to re-open at the end of November)
Urban Decay liquid eyeliner in Ecstasy. The ultimate purple liner. I've been trying to get my hands on this since April of this year- it was truly love at first swatch. Unfortunately, I am far too big a cheapwad to shell out $17 for one liner. It's on sale on the UD website, but after shipping it's still $13 which is rediculous.

Too Faced Poison Orchid eyeshadow. Looks like it would play nice with the UD liner above, no?

Philosophy Sugar Sprinkles funnel cake lip gloss. YUM.
That's all for now, if any of you lovely ladies would care to send me any of these items, feel free ;D

haha just kidding.

Shimmery LOTD

I was going to post a look with my Wet N Wild holographic glitter, but it's gone AWOL. So I did this instead.
Black Rose Minerals Sirena, Dawn Eyes Breathtaking, Shiro Cosmetics Bulbasaur, and Pretty Addictions'Gossip
(As a side note, the amount of shadow I got in the sample of Bulbasaur is insane. It's seriously almost the same amount some companies put in their 5 gram jars. Completely awesome. Shiro samples are at the top of the list in that aspect.)

It looks better in real life than in pictures :/

It has apparently become impossible for me to only wear one eyeshadow at a time anymore.

So, that's that..nothing super special, just a quick little blog post...I can't wait to stock up on some new goodies, I feel like it's been forever since I've gotten new sparklies to play with :(

40 questions beauty survey

I stole this from Don't Call me Jessie. Her blog is amazing, and you can find it here. I have nothing else for you tonight, so why not.

How many times do you wash your face daily?Twice. Once in the morning, and once at night.

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
Combination.

-What is your current face wash?
True Blue Spa's White Tea and Apricot scrub. Oh my GOD. This stuff is heaven in a tube for my skin. And it smells delicious.
-Do you exfoliate?
no

-What brand do you use?
-What moisturizer do you use?
I don't :( bad beauty blogger!

-Do you have freckles?
no
-Do you use eye cream?
No

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
no
-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No. I really don't like them as a company, just because it seems all they care about is celebrity endorsements! :P---I second this answer

MAKE-UP

-What foundation do you use?
I don't

-How about concealer?
very rarely. I use Jane Oil-free finishing powder on occasion

-Do you know your undertone color?
Blue veins, so cool-toned.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
Not worth the effort to me. I'd rather use mascara.

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes. Do I do that?....

-What brand of mascara do you use?
Not super dedicated to a certain brand. Right now I have Rimmel Exaggerate, Hard Candy's Lash Ink (<3 it),  Maybelline Pulse Perfection (the vibrating one, lol) Smashbox Full Exposure, and Maybelline Lash Discovery. All in black/blackest black, stuff like that.

-Sephora or MAC?
Sephora, just for the variety.

-Do you have a MAC Pro card?
I wish!

-What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
fingers and sometimes brushes.

-Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
Yes , NYX base camp. I also just got a sample of NARS' primer, and I am in love with it.

-For the face?
no

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Dear god, there's far too many. A few: Pretty Addictions Obnoxious and Gossip, Vixoden Cosmetíc's Ecstasy and Cryogenic, Sally Beauty's Turquoise, and Shiro Cosmetic's Majora's Mask (check out Pretty Addictions here, Vixoden right here, and Shiro hurr ;)  )

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
normally pencil, sometimes liquid.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Never. But I've gotten mascara on my contact lens more than once.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

love them

-Do you use mineral makeup?
I think I may have a couple...

-What is your favorite lipstick?
Not really a lipstick girl. I always do my eyes up, so I don't like my lips to give too much competition, lol

-How about lipgloss?
Now, that's a whole 'nother animal. My current obsession is Bath and Body Works Liplicious in Cookies and Scream. It's from their Halloween line, it goes on clear with some gold shimmer, and it smells and tastes like graham crackers and cookie dough. I have four tubes.

What is your favorite blush to use?
not a blush girl either. For a makeup junkie, I'm pretty low key.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
from time to time.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
it's not terrible. Haven't bought any form drugstores in forever though. I've gotten really into more indie companies lately.

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
II've been once, years ago.

-Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
I would love to.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Not at all -- I'm too much of a perfectionist!

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Lipliner that's shades darker than the lipstick/gloss. Drawn-on eyebrows. <--- same.

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
Bright shadows all the way...hmm that's contradictiory! lol

-Which celebrity always has great make up?Katy Perry, Amy Lee, and Gwen Stefani

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
eyeliner.
-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
yeah, but I prefer to have at least a little somethin'on
-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Not bad, not great!

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
hmm..I'd have to get back to ya...
-What do you think of makeup?
<3<3<3

Work look

I know, I know, no review or anything of the sorts yesterday...
Here's something to make up for it ^.^

Pretty Addictions' Electric Lemonade (inner corners) and Obnoxious( middle), and Maybelline On-The-Loose rollerball shadow in Skate til Midnight (think that's the name...) on the outer.

I really like the way this picture came out ^

Anyways, just a quick little look for today... And now some ramblings..
I'd say TGIF, but honestly, that really doesn't matter right now..I'm off tomorrow, so maybe I'll just relax with a few drinks tonight, since I won't have to work in the morning...I'm dying to go back to the flea market. It feels like we haven't been in forever, but we're still trying to do this ''no spend november'' thing, so...it'd be pointless to go. You have to pay to park, for one. ( only $1, but still...it's spending money). For two (is that right? Looks funny...), it is next to impossible for me to leave the flea market empty handed. I can do that at ard sales, thrift stores, and most other stores, but the flea market is a completely different animal. My trading card guy almost always gets money from me. (I collect WWE/WWF wrestling cards and figures...shuddup. I've been collecting since I was probably 12, 13..I'm now 23.) I've been going to this guy for cards for probably the last 5 years or so. He always cuts me great deals, probably because I've been going to him for so long. So a handful of cards that would cost anyone $6 will only run me about $3.50.  ^-^ Besides the card guy, there's always always ALWAYS MAC and other makeup brand booths there... And jewelry (got my second heartagram charm at the flea market), food (AWESOME peached last time we went, and one booth has something called a Washington Apple Pear..pretty kickass fruit), and clothes, and magazines, and....well, if you need it, the flea market's got it,lol. And I love it there.
So TGIF, or not.

Any amazing plans for the weekend?
So yeah...(See what I said about rambling above?)

Pretty Addictions review

So I've mentioned once or twice here how much I love Pretty Addictions cosmetics...Well, what do you think you're getting in this post? Yup!
I haven't ordered anythin from PA in about 6 months, but believe me, I've been drooling over the eye candy goodies since then. I was being good nd not buyin, until Kas had to torment us on her FB page on Monday (Halloween) saying that every order placed that day would receive something extra in their order. So Idid what any makeup addict would do when faced with that offer..I placed an order. This time it was just for 3 clamshell samples. I ordered Electic Lemonade, Gossip, and Wicked.
I placed my order Monday (The day before the bf and I's no spend november was set to kick off...one final purchase..) and it arrived Friday. Great TAT, although I admit, I was already impatient come Wednesday to get my goodies. When they came, it took all I had not to rip into them at the mailbox. But I refrained, in order to take a picture for all of you. You're welcome.
Love the leopard print wrapping everything comes in ;)

Here's what was inside:
The three small containers came shrinked wrapped together, whch I loved..it prevents spillage. The trick or treat sticker hides the extra surprise that was thrown in with my order.

This is everytinhg that came with my order. Remember, my camera sucks, so this isn't the most clear picture in the world.
Let's take a closer look at what I got!

Electric Lemondae. There's not much difference in the two pictures, but I felt you could see the sparkle better in the bottom shot. In both pictures, Lemonade was swatched on bare skin (top stripe) and over NXY white Base Camp primer(bottom stripe)

I love this color! It's so vibrant, but not garish. This seems to be a cousin of Obnoxious...one that's not quite a party animal, lol

Gossip. This one is super super pretty, and probably my favorite out of all I ordered. It really pops, as you can see above, over primer. I'm going to be using this in a look today, pictures later.

Wicked: I have to admit, I flip-flopped a bit before ordering this one. I have way too many black shadows that go unused in my drawer, simply because I am not a black shadow girl. Never have been. But Wicked looked to damn interesting to pass up, so I went ahead and got it. I'm glad I did. The sparkle in this is awesome, and it's got an almost purple tone. It's also super pigmented, even on bare skin (right swatch)

Fiona: This is the bagged sample I got for free (Kas is known to include a free baggie sample with purchases. Last time I ordered, I got Bloom, wh  ich I love) Fiona is a pretty brown color, but honestly, browns aren't really my thing. I'll have to figure out a use for this baby. (bare skin swatch on right.)

Finally...my special treat!

This is Hocus Pocus. A color from Pretty Addictions'   Dancing With The Devil collection. When I opened this, all I could say was ''wow''. Pictures do this one NO justice. It;s described on the website as a duochrome that works best with a base ( bare skin swatch on right for comparison.) Goregeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS.

For comparitive purposes, Hocus Pocus is on the bottom. That's right, it was a delux sized sample she threw in , for free, in addition to the bagged sample. <3

Like Isaid, there will be a look later with Gossip, I can't wait to show it off!

Pocketbacs galore!

I took a few pictures of my Bath and Bod Works hand sanitizer collection the other day, figuring if nothing else, I could have a mini ''throwaway'' post, if you will. Nothing majorly exciting here, but I'm really trying to have this blog be a daily thing, like I originally intended, so here it is.
Yeah. It's just a bag full o'sanitizers.
Shown next to my hand for size comparison.

All spread out, it doesn't really look like too many, does it? Or is that just me?

Vanilla Bean Noel, <3 Our Associates berry, Lemon Glaze Cupcake., Fresh Market Apple, Tangelo Orange, Midnight Pomegranate.

White Citrus, Tropical Passionfruit (down to the verrry last teenytiny bit of it..it's a discontinued scent), Nectarine Mint, Mango Margarita, Crushed Berry.

(Same Lemon Glaze from pic #1), Red Velvet cupcake (HAD to have that one), I Love Cake, Comet's Ginger Mint, Pistachio Vanilla, Mocha Mousse (YUM!) Sweet Tea, Scorpio Starfruit.

(Same Passionfruit as before), Mint Chocolate (I own 5 of this one),Raspberry Donut, Same Crushed Berry, Haunted House Sour Drop (Glows in the dark), Cinnamon Roll Donut.

Same Raspberry donut, Candy Corn, Jelly Donut, Vampire Blood Plum.

Same I love Cake and Ginger Mint, Rudy's Cocoa Mint, Chocolate Cake Donut, same Scorpio Starfruit, Honey Pretzel (really), Scary Cats Black Cherry.
I also just realized I cut the Zombie Squad Marshmallow out of the pictures :( Sorry dude.
In total, I have about 43 of these things, including a couple that didn't make it into this picture.

Anyone else out there have any opinions of these? What scents are you looking forward to trying? (The new Christmas ones just came out, including reindeer brownie, penguin pwppermint patty, and Mrs. Claus' Apple Pie.
